Kartell’s Componibili Bio at the Moma Design Store in New York
It was back in 1972 when Anna Castelli Ferrieri first posed in front of the bookstore window at Moma – the New York Museum of Modern Art – where her Componibili had just become joined the museum’s permanent collection. Since then, like so many other iconic Kartell products, Componibili have been exhibited in some of the world’s most prestigious art and design museums. In nearly fifty years of presence in the Kartell catalogue, these established best-sellers have changed their look many times thanks to different finishes, colours and materials. Today, their latest version, made from bio-based material, is back in the Moma Design Store. Componibili Bio are made from a TUV-certified 4-star bio-based sustainable material derived from agricultural waste that does not compete with animal feed or human foodstuffs. Originally designated “mobili 4970/84”, Anna Castelli Ferrieri’s Componibili revolutionised the concept of furniture for a uniquely creative approach that combined high design content with plastic material. They are still evolving today, following the Kartell approach which merges creativity with innovative materials and production processes.
