Lepid & AAland by Patricia Urquiola
The LEPID collection is a play of signs and contrasts, where edges become protagonists and define shapes with a graphic, soft yet decisive stroke. The bookcases and console are born from a language made of light joints and overlaps, which give rhythm and movement to the structure. The highlighted profile creates an almost optical effect, like a continuous sign that crosses space, tracing volumes with the spontaneity of a freehand drawing. AALAND is an upholstered collection designed by Patricia Urquiola, inspired by the fluid beauty of archipelagos. Like groups of islands that approach and merge harmoniously, its soft and enveloping seats create a landscape of comfort and conviviality. The design challenges traditional conventions, introducing unexpected and versatile volumes, capable of adapting to different contexts. Sofas, armchairs, and poufs, in various sizes, connect organically to each other, transforming each environment into a dynamic and welcoming space. No element lives in isolation, but each contributes to the creation of a harmonious and modular whole. The configurations are flexible: the upholstered pieces can be easily moved and reorganized to meet ever-changing needs. With its innovative approach, AALAND invites us to rethink the concept of seating, overcoming fixed and rigid structures. The result is a fluid system, capable of stimulating encounter and dialogue.
