The past shaping the present

THE PAST SHAPING THE PRESENT
Lillybet & Albert by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba
LILLYBET is a seat that merges the past and the future, seeking a style that can be revived in a contemporary key. Starting from historical decorative elements, the design is renewed without betraying its origins, while maintaining a deep connection with 2025. The structure of the project is made of plastic material, but it is the upholstery that surprises: a floral jacquard fabric, unprecedented and innovative, created thanks to artificial intelligence, capable of opening a window to the future of design. An encounter of materials and ideas that challenges conventions, bringing a new vision to the contemporary scene. The ALBERT table, designed by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba, stems from Kartell's idea to merge a stylistic language of the past with innovative and surprising materials. Its legs, with an elegant and sinuous design, recall a classic aesthetic inspired by the famous 18th-century French craftsman André Charles Boulle, who revolutionized aesthetics by introducing the characteristic curved leg. But here, the historical reference is not just decoration: it becomes structure, essence, and character. Made of aluminum, the table stands out for an edge designed to accommodate various types of tops, ensuring versatility and customization. Its total color version uses a large ceramic surface with an extraordinary super glossy finish. This makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor environments, thanks to its resistance and durability.
