GastelKartell. Il copione di un'amicizia per immagini

GastelKartell. Il copione di un'amicizia per immagini
@Piccolo teatro
From April 5th to 13th, on the occasion of Miart and Salone del Mobile, the cloister of Piccolo Teatro Grassi hosts the exhibition “GASTEL@KARTELL, The Script of a Friendship in Images.” Giovanni Gastel's photography interprets faces, figures, and objects with a delicate and gentle eye, transforming them and giving them a unique expressive soul. From the Kartell archive, which opens to the public on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Kartell Museum to allow the enjoyment of documentary fragments of design history, emerge the images signed by Giovanni Gastel. Within scenarios entirely unusual for the design of that time, Kartell furnishings become protagonists of the Master's lens, as if they were fashion garments, together with models who relate to shapes and materials. The result is works of art that continue to convey the poetic sense of that period and those collections. Among these, also black and white shots portraying the iconic objects of Kartell, defined as classics, which open the catalog with the Compasso d'oro, the children's chair by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper, and continue with the Componibili and other heritage pieces of the Museum. The intuition to transform Ron Arad's long Bookworm bookcase into the natural continuation of the model's hairstyle, encased in a red drape, marks the synthesis of Gastel's vision and becomes a symbolic image. The exhibition is made possible thanks to the contribution of Piccolo Teatro and Fondazione Giovanni Gastel.
