Kartell Museo, virtual tour
The Museo Kartell was opened in 1999 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kartell and to tell the story of the extraordinary marriage between plastic and design. Designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri and Ignazio Gardella, and containing some 1000 objects, the Museo Kartell covers an area of around 2500 sqm within the company’s premises in Noviglio (MI). An original exhibition, created by Ferruccio Laviani, immediately immerses visitors in the world of Kartell. The collection is laid out in chronological order over three floors and offers visitors a synopsis of the business based around several key topics: display, design, technology and communication. In 2000, the museum received the prestigious “Best Business Museum” award from the Guggenheim Foundation. Its collections have been loaned to and exhibited in the Pompidou Centre, the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, the Triennale di Milano, and the New York MoMA.
