Paris Designer’s Days 2023

On the occasion of Designer's Days in Paris from 14 to 17 June, Kartell interprets its vision of "Radical Design", the theme of the 2023 edition. The windows of the Flagship store on Boulevard Saint Germain present a special set-up that expresses the brand's ability to be disruptive, in the past as in the present, for research and experimentation, in aesthetics as in the use of innovative industrial materials and technologies.

For Kartell, being "radical" is a way of understanding form and function which, as in the 60s and 70s, still finds space today in the design of objects that break the mold and become a symbol of a way of living in the home. From the Componibili still current after more than 50 years from their birth to the more contemporary objects Kartell continues to be the interpreter of this philosophy in proposing new models in total freedom of aesthetic interpretation of the project.

The desire to experiment with technologies and materials never used in the furniture industry and its ability in industrial molding have allowed Kartell, since its inception, to think beyond the traditional boundaries of design, creating, through the use of and revolutionary manufacturing processes, products that would otherwise have been difficult to produce. The company has adopted techniques such as the injection of plastic material into increasingly advanced moulds, and innovative materials such as carbon or biopolymer, recycled materials, FSC certified 3D curved wood and polycarbonate in the green version, giving life to products in which matter and design combine to respond to the ever-changing needs and expectations of the market and the public.

Radical is therefore a term that is linked to Kartell, with choices that over the years have subverted the old canons of living. But Kartell is and continues to be Radical, with unexpected ideas in the use and combination of different materials, as well as in the choice of designers who implement the catalog every year by reinventing today's way of life with an eye to tomorrow's home. to remind us that "Radicale" is a lifestyle and not just a philosophy of things.
